The Procrastination Remedy (Morphic Field)
Many people struggle with procrastination and putting off tasks. Studies have shown that people who struggle with procrastination have a larger amygdala with impaired connection to the dorsal anterior cingulate cortex (dACC) in the brain. The amygdala is responsible for emotional processing and controls motivation while the dACC uses information from the amygdala to decide what action the body will take, plays a role in decision-making and self-regulation, and keeps a person on track by blocking out competing emotions and distractions and helping with impulse control.
Individuals with a larger amygdala could be more anxious and hesitant about taking action, and too focused on what could go wrong. They may feel greater fear when it comes to tasks. The impaired connection to the dACC also contributes by making a person less able to filter out distractions and interfering emotions. These changes in the brain could contribute to bad procrastination habits, task avoidance, and worse impulse control. The brain of a procrastinator finds a task more difficult and may feel more anxiety and avoidance due to the larger amygdala, and the impaired connectivity makes it harder to overcome this and act anyway. This pattern can also get worse over time the more that a person procrastinates.
Individuals who had these changes were considered to be state-oriented rather than action-oriented.
In response to the question "When I do not have anything in particular to do, and I am getting bored", the answer for state-oriented people was "I have trouble getting up enough energy to do anything at all" while for action-oriented people it was "I quickly find something to do".

It strengthens your emotional regulation so that negative emotions won't get in the way, and it reduces the desire to be "doing something else" so that your mind isn't occupied by alternative actions.
This field fills you with a sense of excitement for any task you must do, and encourages you to feel engaged and present as you do it. It encourages you to do the task right away instead of leaving it for another time. It dissolves the idea of the task being difficult and encourages a more positive mindset. Instead of thinking what could go wrong, you instead begin to think about how easy it'll be to do the task.
Over time, this morphic field will seek to entirely reverse the changes that contribute to procrastination, and can provide significant relief.
